Built by the team that automated mining trucks.
Tango Robotics was founded with a simple but urgent goal: to bring advanced automation and safety to landfills. Our team has spent years developing collision avoidance and autonomous systems for the toughest environments on earth, including mining pits, tailings sites, and quarries. We saw firsthand how little of that technology had made its way into waste management. After just a few visits to landfills, it was clear the risks were higher, the operating conditions harsher, and the need for purpose-built solutions greater than almost anywhere else. That’s why we created Tango: to adapt proven autonomy experience to the landfill working face.
Proven at Industrial Scale
Collectively, our team has helped deploy hundreds of autonomous haul trucks and support machines across some of the largest mining operations in the world. From oil sands in Canada to iron ore in Australia and quarries across North and South America, we’ve seen what it takes to move autonomy from pilot projects into day-to-day operations. We’ve worked with global leaders like Imperial Oil, Suncor, Fortescue Metals Group, and Roy Hill, alongside projects with Rio Tinto, BHP, and Vale. These programs spanned haul trucks, drills, support machines, and light vehicles, proving autonomy at an industrial scale.
